Liquid-Applied Waterproofing Systems

Liquid-Applied Waterproofing

Liquid-applied waterproofing systems are professional liquid waterproofing solutions that give high protection against water on foundations, retaining walls, terraces, balconies, bathrooms, wet areas and reinforced concrete structures. With bitumen-based 1K, 2K and solvent-type liquid membranes, they deliver long-lasting insulation performance for a range of application needs.

Product description

What Is Liquid-Applied Waterproofing?

Liquid-applied waterproofing systems are professional waterproofing solutions applied to building surfaces by brush, trowel or roller to make them watertight. Their liquid form ensures full adhesion to the substrate and creates a seamless waterproofing layer.

Bitumen-based liquid-applied waterproofing products are used on foundation retaining walls, balconies, terraces, bathrooms, kitchens, wet areas and reinforced concrete surfaces to stop water from damaging the structure.

  • Forms a seamless waterproofing layer
  • Provides high watertightness
  • Offers strong surface adhesion
  • Easy to apply
  • Conforms fully to concrete surfaces
  • Delivers crack-bridging performance
  • Provides long-lasting protection
  • Offers solutions for a variety of applications

Application Method

The surface to be treated must be clean, dry and sound. Dust, oil and any residue that could reduce adhesion must be removed.

The product is applied to the surface with a brush, roller or trowel. Allow sufficient drying time between coats. A second coat can be applied where required.

At critical junctions, the use of geotextile mesh or cant strips is recommended.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is liquid-applied waterproofing used for?

It makes building surfaces watertight, preventing water from damaging foundations, balconies, terraces and wet areas.

What is the difference between 1K and 2K liquid membranes?

A 1K liquid membrane is a single-component, ready-to-use product, whereas a 2K liquid membrane, with its two-component formulation, provides higher elasticity and strength.

Where is solvent-type liquid membrane used?

It can be used on foundation retaining walls, concrete surfaces, roof systems and below-grade structural applications.

How is liquid-applied waterproofing installed?

It is applied to the surface with a brush, roller or trowel. Sufficient drying time must be allowed between coats.

Does liquid-applied waterproofing seal cracks?

Thanks to their crack-bridging capability, 2K elastomeric liquid membrane systems can help waterproof small cracks.
